Job Description

Reporting Relationship

COO/EVP, Finance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monthly analysis of recognized revenue
  • Billing meetings with Account Manager to determine revenue recognition
  • Invoicing clients on cycle, monthly, or milestone basis
  • Media billing and reconciliation on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Prepare client statements upon request
  • Reconcile jobs at end of projects
  • Monthly journal entries based on revenue recognition or accrued expenses
  • Helps team with year-end closing procedures
  • Assists with annual review by outside accountants
  • Various accounting tasks can be assigned: Bank reconciliation, Deposits, A/R reporting, Cash Flow analysis, AP checks, MSA/SOW collection
  • Enter and update accounting system data
  • Provide exceptional customer services to internal and external clients
  • Support finance/accounting department and Controller in carrying out various departmental duties
  • Maintain discretion and transparency in all endeavors
  • Explain complex financial information to internal and external clients
  • Enter projects in accounting system and update as necessary
  • Interface with account managers on client requested charge questions
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time


  • Must have excellent communication and problem solving
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Solid organizational skills and strong time management skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work independently as well as participate in team collaboration
  • Professional services, advertising and/or print production experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred; or equivalent experience
  • An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
  • Honesty and discretion
