Our client works in the construction industry and is well-established throughout the Midwest. They are based in Omaha and work out of an impressive, easily accessible office. The Accounting Specialist will work in-office. Here are the main responsibilities of the role:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Compile and sort documents including invoices, bills, purchase orders, etc.
- Verify and post details of business transactions
- Audit invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies and approve payments
- Investigate bill payment issues
- Document charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, etc.
- Prepare vouchers, invoices, reports, and other records as needed
- Reconcile report discrepancies
- Code data and input into processing systems
- Review, balance, and interpret computer reports, making corrections as needed
- Assist employees, vendors, clients, and customers as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Associates degree OR 6 months to 1 year related experience, required
- Must have an understanding of accounting/database software, inventory software, and spreadsheet software
- Strong data entry skills
- Able to work independently and collaborate with a team
