Job Description:

At Regions, the Accounting Policy Analyst provides support to the Corporate Bank, Regional Bank, Corporate Risk and Administration functions, and the Finance and Treasury groups.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Researches and responds to technical accounting inquiries from our business partners
  • Prepares and maintains corporate accounting policies
  • Monitors and helps implement changes to accounting standards
  • Researches and helps implement accounting for new initiatives
  • Evaluates fiscal and accounting controls or reporting issues
  • Supports external reporting on accounting related matters in external filings
  • May act as a resource for associates with less experience


This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a directly related field
  • Three (3) years in public accounting or industry with reporting, policy, or financial analysis experience


Certifications/Licensures
  • Certified Public Accountant Licensure (CPA)


Preferences
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or directly related field
  • Experience within a financial services industry


Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to work under moderate guidance
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good knowledge of financial statements, generally accepted account principles (GAAP), external reporting, and strong quantitative skills
  • Excellent personal computer (PC) skills including experience with Microsoft applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
