Responsibilities

Are you looking for a new, exciting accounting opportunity at Principal? Principal is currently recruiting a motivated individual to fill a Senior Accounting Analyst role on the Financial Controls team within Corporate Accounting! This role will have a variety of responsibilities including:

• Assist in the development, communication, and maintenance of appropriate guidance necessary to document and evaluate internal controls over financial reporting
• Provide coordination and support to multiple business units to ensure consistency of controls between business units where appropriate
• Support and on-going maintenance of the Company's control documentation tool.
• Identify, design, document, and test new LDTI processes and controls
• Document process flows and risk and control matrices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.
• 8+ years of related experience required.
• CPA or other applicable certifications strongly preferred.
• Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Must demonstrate the ability to drive change, informally lead to drive results, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• It is preferred that the candidate have experience in financial statement or operational auditing (in-charge/senior level, at a minimum).
• Knowledge of GAAP and statutory (for insurance companies) accounting and reporting requirements is desired.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Minimum Salary
USD $87,600.00/Yr.Maximum Salary
USD $172,800.00/Yr.Additional Information
