Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Corporate Controller and is a critical member of the accounting operations team. This individual will be heavily involved in the monthly financial statement close, financial reporting, the annual audit, order to cash,  and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, tax, accounting and other financial systems, and accounting policies, procedures, and controls.  The successful candidate will be adept at moving effectively between strategic and operational levels, taking a hands-on approach when needed and providing structure.  The role will have significant interaction with the SVP of Finance, and functional leaders.    

  

Responsibilities:

Monthly Close: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of account reconciliations, analysis and presentation of the monthly financial close. Assist in the preparation of the monthly management financial reports.

General Accounting: Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.  Manage and implement technical accounting and tax pronouncements and stay current and adopt all mandated technical accounting pronouncements. 

Audit: Support the day to day audit process including the preparation of support, Financial Statements and interactions with the external audit firm.

Policies, Procedures and Internal Controls: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures as required with a focus on driving efficiencies through effective and efficient use of our accounting systems. 

Financial Management: Work closely with SVP Finance, Controller, FP&A to manage the financial results of the business.  Provide oversight and support for the management of department level operating expenses.

Other: Assist Controller and SVP of Finance with special projects and documentation/automation of processes.


Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA designation preferred.
  •  5 years minimum of relevant experience in finance related roles and/or public accounting, previous
  • Accounting manager experience is a plus
  •  Demonstrated ability to consistently work within fixed timeframes and meet deadlines
  •  Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
  •  Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite required
  •  Experience with QuickbooksOnline or NetSuite preferred
  • Experience in a high growth environment and/or insurance industry preferred
