We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Chemical Team! As a primary business partner, this role creates value for the organization by providing fiduciary support for several manufacturing facilities within our Chemical division. A strong potential candidate for this role will be self-directed in a dynamic environment - able to set priorities and meet deadlines - you will enjoy fiduciary accounting, business partnering, and have the ability to influence and create value - you will have demonstrated progressive experience in related roles and are seeking to continue to grow with the organization.

Our corporate HQ is in Atlanta, GA and we are considering REMOTE candidates! Travel to GP HQ and supported locations across the USA (including overnight stays) will be required for training and onboarding and to meet priority business demands.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Process and report finished good inventory
  • Perform analysis on finished good inventory cost
  • Support changes to inventory processing and reporting for accuracy in the balance sheet
  • Approve or Review balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Support month-end closing activities
  • Work with internal/external auditors to assist with requests/questions
  • Provide reporting and review results with internal customers to assist with questions
  • Participate in special financial projects and process improvements initiatives
  • Partner with our Internal Financial Controls Center of Excellence to educate the sites on IFC expectations and drive any corrective actions
  • Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions
  • Advance the Market-Based Management® (MBM®) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Guiding Principles


The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
  • You have performed Accounting, Finance, Audit, or related role(s) that required a working knowledge of US GAAP requirements, Internal Financial Controls, and Financial Reporting
  • You have direct General Ledger and Month End Close, Account Reconciliations and Variance Analysis, Balance Sheet and Income Statement experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps) proficiency
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation)
  • You can collaborate and work effectively across multiple platforms, businesses, and geographic locations
  • You confidently communicate and present financial concepts to various audiences in person and via audio and video formats; you are comfortable being seen and heard
  • Able to travel - including overnight stays - to meet the responsibilities for locations supported


What Will Put You Ahead

  • MBA, MAcc, CPA, or other professional business certification
  • Manufacturing industry experience: Cost Accounting, Operations Accounting, Financial Economics
  • Inventory management experience (i.e. counts, reconciliation, transfers, valuation)
