What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as a lead in the financial statement close process through timely and effective preparation, review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations and managing close deliverables
  • Prepares, reviews and approves balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and assists with the management of QuickBase (project management tool) ensuring timely completion of checklist and account reconciliation assigned tasks
  • Provide supervision and guidance over a team of accountants
  • Support monthly reporting requirements and analysis, including but not limited to analysis on income statement, balance sheet, and underlying cash flow movement
  • Support system requirements and maintenance of Chart of Accounts
  • Critically review and analyze General Ledger data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP
  • Manage daily accounting activities including but not limited to areas of cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, lease accounting, compensation related accruals, intercompany transactions and consolidations
  • Reviewing proper account coding of expenses to ensure adherence with Chart of Accounts
  • Prepare and review variance analysis for accounts and reporting as needed for management
  • Serve as liaison to other departments in developing policies and/or executing on finance initiatives and ensuring accounting policy compliance company-wide
  • Lead or provide support on special projects
  • Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve operations and productivity
  • Escalate issues and recommendations to management as appropriate
  • Ensures that staff receives developmental training to improve their competencies or build strengths

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 6+ years of related accounting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial close, reporting, AP, GL, payroll, consolidations, intercompany JEs, foreign currency, etc.).
  • Prior experience in fast moving/innovative SaaS technology environment preferred
  • Detail oriented and organized; must be a team player with a “can-do” attitude
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and financial ERP/GL systems (NetSuite preferred)
