Responsibilities

Principal's goal for the Accounting Development Leadership Program ("ADLP") is to build a strong pipeline of dynamic Accounting and Financial leaders across the enterprise.

The ADLP is a two to three-year program focused on accelerating the development of accounting and leadership skills though rotational experiences, active networking, and delivering valued business results. During the program, associates rotate through multiple business or functional areas for six to nine months at a time.

The Accounting Leadership Development Program Offers:

  • Cross-functional rotations ranging six to nine months in length. Each rotation is designed to help you leverage and develop leadership skills, as well as an understanding of the different businesses and accounting areas of Principal, while delivering on key initiatives for the assignment.
  • The rotational path of each associate is individually tailored to build your accounting acumen, leadership skills, and experiences in alignment with business goals. Through rotational experiences, individuals will receive enterprise exposure and individual coaching. Position could include experiences in financial and management reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, investment accounting, taxes etc.
  • Build your peer network through professional workshops and social events with associates from other development programs across the enterprise.
  • The opportunity to learn about our business, company culture and what it to be a leader in our accounting organization. You'll also have the opportunity to network and gain in-depth knowledge about how our leaders have helped make Principal a great place for people to do exceptional work.
  • Upon successful completion of the program our goal is to support you in attaining placement within Principal.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$55100 - $90300 / year

Additional Information

This is a two year rotational program that will be a hybrid role reporting to the Des Moines campus. After the two year program has been completed a permanently placed employee would have the option to work remote.

Work Environment

This role offers the ability for in-office and hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek). You'll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
