Q2 is seeking an Accountant, Global Accounting and Consolidations. As a part of the global accounting and consolidations team, you will be primarily involved in accounting for fixed assets, leases, cash, overhead allocations, and accrued liabilities. Additionally, you will support the monthly close process, financial reporting, and both internal and external audits. The ideal candidate is system savvy, detail-orientated, has firm knowledge of GAAP and works well in a team environment. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Accounting and Consolidations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for adhering to accounting policies and procedures world-wide. Activities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Account for fixed assets and leases, while ensuring that financial statements are GAAP compliant
- Reconcile bank/cash accounts, prepare cash flow projections, and manage bank access
- Own and execute monthly overhead allocation process
- Responsible for accounting and analysis of accounts and processes, reconciling accounts and explaining period over period/budget vs. actual variances, including accrued liabilities accounts
- Assist team in the interim and annual audit of financial statements and internal controls
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, and act as business lead for system and software implementations as needed
- Participate in and help drive current and future projects with respect to areas of responsibility
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure financial transactions are executed properly and the documentation is complete to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX 404, and Company policies
- Work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
- Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy, and efficiency
- Assist Sr Accounting Manager, Global Accounting and Consolidations and Senior Accountants in driving internal efficiencies and corporate initiatives
- Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
- 5-7 years experience in accounting or 3-5 years with CPA
- 3+ years of software or software-as-a-service (SaaS) experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and the reporting and compliance issues of a public company
- Intermediate MS Excel knowledge (Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, and analysis)
- NetSuite or Oracle experience strongly preferred
- BlackLine experience a plus
- Strong work ethic with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
