We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our accounting and finance team right away! This position is responsible for Accounts Payable, Payroll, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing account data, participating in month-end close, and performing general accounting duties within the Department. The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and has broad exposure to other teams.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to)
Payroll
Prepare and process bi-weekly U.S. Payroll including working with third party service provider on Payroll administration.
Post bi-weekly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll GL accounts monthly. Prepare bi-weekly Payroll Summary Report and Overtime Report and provide analysis on the results as needed.
Complete research on payroll related issues, respond to and resolve payroll problems in a timely manner.
Maintain payroll and accounts payable files, keep up with changes in policies, procedures and regulations.
Create and implement changes to work assignment, methods, or procedures to meet operational needs, improve accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable and payroll systems.
Accounts Payable
Review account payable supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness for all check requests, and other requests for payment. Verify proper authorization, ensure accuracy of GL coding for each invoice/check request and compliance with accrual accounting principles.
Review and process employee requests for reimbursements, including expenses and mileage.
Prepare and generate reports of paid and unpaid invoices as needed and maintain weekly check run.
Correspond with vendors to request documents and reconcile accounts on a timely basis.
Review of all company credit card statements for supporting receipts and approvals.
Hardware and Software Inventory
Preparation/review of purchase orders (PO’s) for upcoming license renewals, reviewing active vs non-active customers for hardware and software and comparing PO’s to invoices to inventory records.
Month end and financial statements
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
Analyze and accurately reconcile various bank accounts, credit cards, fixed assets, and all other balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Support with the preparation of internal and external reports, including financial statements, regulatory, budget, audit, and ad-hoc reports as needed.
Assist in development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Support the finance team in conducting business performance analytics. Work with Controller in continual improvement of relevant analysis and identify improvements.
Assist the Controller and CFO with the day-to-day accounting transactions.
Other
Cross-train with the appropriate accounting position to serve as backup, as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel
A minimum of 4 years related accounting experience
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Telecom industry
Relevant certification (e.g. CPA or CMA)
