Description: Our client is currently seeking a ACCOUNTANT - III
JOB TITLE: Lead Accountant
MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibilities.
Experience in the preparation of general ledger postings and account reconciliations.
Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, accounting best practices, and cross-functional accounting impacts.
Knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Google Suite
Knowledge of accounting systems and applications including SAP, PeopleSoft, Hyperion Financial Management, Blackline, or related systems and applications.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience with SQL, Macros, PowerShell.
Reporting experience in Qlik, SAP Business Objects/Web Intelligence.
Experience in the design and implementation of accounting systems and applications.
Advanced understanding of report query and design.
Proven management skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
JOB DUTIES:
Performing accounting tasks and project assignments utilizing a combination of systems/IT and accounting skills.
Overseeing the completion of complex analytical assignments and preparation of accounting-related reports.
Supporting leadership with analyzing, and reporting on general ledger transactions, and other accounting-related projects.
Coordinating with the other finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accruals and simplify processes.
Leading the company's efforts to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley while ensuring compliance and adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations.
Providing subject matter expertise on the application of accounting principles.
Reviewing the work of others and analyzing the output for appropriate accounting treatment, completeness, and accuracy.
Leading reviews for accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
Leading accounting projects to ensure compliance and adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations.
Directing efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures and policies for the group.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent is preferred.
CPA certification
LOGISTICS:
Shift: M-F, 40hr/week, standard 8-5 workday; during critical month-end close periods, may be asked to work later and possibly on a weekend
