Description: The Accountant III Subsidiaries performs various reporting and accounting activities that facilitate the flow and reporting of financial information. Typical Duties:

  1. Records and reports financial and statistical information for the JPS Foundation or JPS Physician Group activities.
  2. Prepares or assists with, yearly budget for the JPS Foundation or JPS Physician for review by leadership.
  3. Maintains an ongoing review process in areas of responsibility to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  4. Designs and maintains general ledger reports for all restricted funds and communicates to leaders within the District.
  5. Prepares journal entries with adequate supporting documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  6. Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts accurately and timely.
  7. Reviews all contributions posted daily and reconciles to bank accounts.
  8. Prepares weekly accounts payable check run.
  9. Prepares and distributes 1099s in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
  10. Assists in the completion of the audit and required reporting.
  11. Prepares and maintains written procedures for areas assigned.
  12. Participates in the General Accounting cross training program.
  13. Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

    Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting from an accredited University.
  • 5 plus years of accounting/finance experience.
  • 5 plus years of significant hands-on experience with complex, computer applications in a corporate, computer network environment.
  • Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Accounting from an accredited University.
  • 2 plus years of experience in a hospital and/or with health insurance programs.
  • 2 plus years of experience with multiple entities.
  • Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

  • 2 plus years of training in network-based, computer applications including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, data bases and word processing.
  • b>Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
