Accountant II - FEP (REMOTE)
Job Purpose:
The Accounting Specialist (FEP) will apply specialized knowledge in assisting management in matters that require special interpretation or expertise. Incumbents will utilize their professional (i.e., discipline-specific) and/or institutional knowledge, including theories, practices and techniques, to perform department activities.
Location
The candidate selected for this role would preferably live in Jacksonville, FL. or within a commutable range of Jacksonville, FL. This role currently has flexibility for working remotely, working in office, or a hybrid. On-site training and on-site meetings at our GuideWell Corporate office may be required.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform month end financial close functions including preparing reconciliations of general ledger accounts, monthly journal entries and variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting required by the FEP Directors Office.
- Prepare responses and assist with audit inquiries related to FEP Financial Accounting.
- Prepare monthly FEP Special Plan Invoices and resolve exceptions.
- Manage FEP Special Plan invoice submission and approval process.
- Provide leadership to work groups for FEP related projects or initiatives.
- Provide training and/or consultation on processes to internal and/or external areas.

What You Must Have:
3+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education.
Related Bachelor's degree required Accounting or Finance
Preferred Experience
- Health Insurance industry experience
- PeopleSoft General Ledger
- Excel knowledge
- SQL knowledge
General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
