Accountant HQ Accounting
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties. • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and book journal entries to the general ledger. • Reconciles and balances general ledger accounts. • Performs account research and analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes. • Participates in monthly/quarterly/annual closing cycles and financial statement preparation. • Monitors and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 control procedures, and company procedures.
This position has no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and two (2) years accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of business mathematics • Ability to compose effective and efficient accounting reports • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program • Proficient in the use of accounting software package
