We are seeking an analytical, creative, and forward-thinking Financial Analyst to join our Operations Finance team. As a member of the Operations Finance organization, you will drive critical initiatives to improve the quality and timeliness of insights provided to business leadership, assisting them in understanding financial performance, develop tools to enable proactive financial management, and provide insights to enable critical business decisions. The individual should possess excellent financial acumen and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will be working day to day using Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting, Planful (Blue Origin’s Financial Planning tool) and Costpoint (Accounting system). This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This role is available on-site in Kent, WA or Merritt Island, FL with relocation provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with creation of models for financial reviews, cost benefit analysis, and metrics

  • Work across finance functions to develop reporting and analytics for tactical questions

  • Creation of content & variance analysis support for financial and operational reviews

  • Lead metrics and financial performance reviews with management across the organization

  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and performance dashboards

  • Data mining across diverse data sets; Databricks; Redshift; SQL

  • Support business managers with budget setting and insights to performance drivers

  • Drive monthly resource forecasts (Labor, Overhead, Capital) for assigned programs

  • Compile estimate at completion (EACs) at the element and program level

  • Identify risk & opportunity with potential solutions; assist with recovery plan development

  • Analyze and report financial performance variances of actuals to budget and forecast

  • Collect data and input into models to highlight financial and business performance metrics

  • Support key business analytics and key performance indicator generation

  • Support and assist with internal initiatives for new products for internal customers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other highly analytical field

  • 5+ years of financial and business analytics experience

  • Control account management including budget baselining, reforecasting, and variance analysis

  • Ability to develop pricing models based on multiple inputs including market conditions, competition, and other constraints

  • Strong analytical skill set and high attention to detail

  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills

  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel Power Query, Power Pivot

  • Experience in helping business managers meet financial targets and deliver results

  • Understanding of underlying business processes and the impact of financial decisions

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Experience with SQL querying and data mining

  • Experience with Tableau

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint

  • Experience working in a Research & Development or Manufacturing environment

  • MBA, CPA, or Master’s Degree in Finance


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $100,800.00-$141,120.00

Other site ranges may differ

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
