Location: Hengelo, Netherlands
About the team
The F126 Subcontract team at TNL takes care of the full (project-) execution of the Thales-external subcontracts and the contractual aspects for Thales-internal (Intragroup = IGTR) subcontracts. We are currently a diverse team of seven Procurement professionals who manage subcontracts worth more than one billion EUR.
About your future job
The IGTR subcontract manager that we are looking for takes care of the management of (mainly) the two large Intragroup subcontracts we have with Thales Germany in F126 for a large communication system (InfoÜSys) and various engineering services, worth in total more than 500 M€. The focus will be on the contractual aspects, so in the first instance any necessary contract updates / amendments to have clear contract execution baselines and then in the second instance the (contractual) execution of the baselined scope in the subcontract. This includes e.g. physical or document deliveries, government furnished items and similar aspects.
The IGTR subcontract manager needs to work together with the Project Managers for the above scope on both Thales Germany and Thales Netherlands side. He shall act as a Procurement (Category) representative with an interest in clear contractual situations and therewith translate the (technical) input he receives from the project team in clean contractual documentation. This shall be done of course together with a variety of stakeholders like Legal & Contracts and the Program Management Team for the necessary senior management alignment with Thales Germany.
What makes this role interesting is the size & complexity of the subcontracts itself, where the suppliers develop and deliver complex, high risk, high value equipment + services under specific terms & conditions (customer downflow) and the environment that they are in. The role clearly is in the domain of senior management and is influenced by various (political) interests within Thales. The subcontracts with Thales Germany have been one of the first ones being closed in F126 and require continuous changes & updates, especially until the design of the complex solution is finished and fully reflected in the subcontract documentation, when the focus will shift towards the contractual execution.
Apart from the named Procurement & contract management aspects, this role touches several other project management related aspects, which is also the area into which an IGTR subcontract manager could grow. Due to the close links between InfoÜsys and FüInfoSys / GMN (DXC), there is an opportunity to - in a later stage - merge the management of these subcontracts and enrich it with Project Management activities.
The main tasks are:
- Fully responsible for the management of the IGTR subcontracts of TNL within the F126 project incl. necessary contract updates
- Continuous senior management alignment (TNL + TD) of the respective contracting strategy
- Keeping the underlying contract baselines up-to-date and in line with the project’s needs
