The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Environmental Control and Thermal Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to support development, design, testing, and delivery of the Core Stage on the Space Launch System (SLS) program in Huntsville, AL.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create or modify thermal math models to support system analysis
- Run analytical cases to determine environments or temperatures of various components or structures of the SLS vehicle
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Propulsion and Stress to ensure requirements are met and issues are resolved
- Develop skills and grow into an independent contributor role with increasing technical complexity
- Take on broader ownership of work including design, build, supply chain, production support, and customer support
- Work on exciting challenges within a collaborative and supportive team environment
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Thermal Analysis software such Thermal Desktop)
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with aerospace or defense industry standards and practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 3: 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience or course work in thermal design and analysis
- Experience or course work with thermal design and modeling of aerospace platforms
- Experience or course work with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, Sinda/Fluint, SpaceClaim or similar tools
- Experience or course work working with space programs, NASA programs preferred

Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $91,800.00 - $124,200.00
Summary pay range of Mid-Level (Level 3): $112,200.00 - $151,800.00
