Job Description

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Renewables Latvia Office of the Ignitis Renewables team, where you’ll be taking care of environment and permitting activities in Latvia and other countries. If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Performing environmental site monitoring, inspection, and auditing during construction and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation
  • Implementing species protection plans, precautionary methods, and conducting relevant surveys
  • Monitoring construction activities near sensitive environmental areas to minimize impacts
  • Providing guidance to contractors on environmental compliance and delivering agreed mitigation measures
  • Collaborating with construction teams to ensure all projects adhere to environmental requirements 
  • Preparing compliance and advisory reports for project managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, construction engineering or other relevant field
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to analyze, aggregate and deliver the solutions 
  • Familiarity with the environmental impact assessment legislation, policy and guidance 
  • Knowledge of environmental standards, legislation and an understanding of environmental management in a construction context 
  • Well organized, proactive, and willing to travel between project sites 
  • Proficiency in English and Latvian language.

Would be an advantage:

  • Experience monitoring construction activities in line with best practice guidance, and of site-based audit
  • Experience in renewable energy projects.
