About the Job
As an Engineering Manager at Vendasta, you will lead by example—mentoring engineers, evolving team processes, and driving the adoption of AI-enhanced workflows. This role is at the forefront of R&D leadership, combining your technical expertise with a passion for empowering teams through operational excellence and continuous learning. You’ll help shape the future of how software is developed at Vendasta by embedding AI, automation, and agile best practices into everything we do.

Your Impact
As an Engineering Manager, you'll work with cross-functional product and engineering teams to:

• Build and support high-performing engineering teams aligned with Vendasta’s strategic and AI-forward vision.
• Mentor and coach team members to embrace AI tools for improving solution design, reducing toil, and accelerating delivery.
• Oversee the adoption and integration of AI-enhanced agile practices and developer workflows.
• Lead performance management and career development, ensuring continuous feedback, growth, and accountability.
• Develop and refine engineering processes using data and AI insights to maximize efficiency and team impact.
• Proactively hire and resource teams with a focus on AI fluency, collaboration, and scalable growth.
• Measure and improve team performance through metrics such as automation rate, delivery velocity, and AI tool utilization.
• Share best practices and enable cross-team learning to scale engineering excellence across the organization.

What You Bring to the Table
You are an experienced technical leader with a strong track record of leading teams through change, innovation, and growth. You bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software development (SaaS preferred), with at least 3+ years managing a team.
• Proven success in leading engineering teams through AI tool adoption, automation, and agile transformation.
• Strong experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and using AI to optimize sprint planning and team performance.
• Familiarity with AI-enhanced development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or CI/CD automation systems.
• Excellent coaching and communication skills, with the ability to drive performance, enable career development, and align teams to company objectives.
• A passion for ethical AI use and educating others through toolkits, workshops, and shared success stories.
