Summary
Would you like to join Apple's growing wireless silicon development team? Do you like hard problems?

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) space vehicles transmit the power of a lightbulb, they are 13000 miles away, and are moving four kilometers per second. The received signals are commonly one hundred times weaker than cosmic microwave background radiation left over from the Big Bang and arrive next to interfering signals ten billion times stronger, just few MHz away.

Our GNSS team is part of Apple's wireless SOC team. We are a vertically coordinated engineering team spanning RF, mixed signal analog design, Systems Engineering, RTL design, Design Verification, firmware and software engineering, test, and validation.

Our focus is on highly energy efficient and robust GNSS receiver design. We develop GNSS technology that touches hundreds of millions of lives, something we are passionate about. We'd like you to consider being a part of our team.

As a Wireless Systems Engineer, you will be a key member of our design team, defining signal processing architectures, developing physical-layer algorithms and implementations to deliver outstanding GNSS performance with ultra-low-power when we can and exceptional robustness when it's needed.

Key Qualifications
A strong foundation in physical layer functionality for wireless systems in areas such as detection/acquisition, synchronization, parameter estimation & tracking.
Familiarity with common analog/RF impairments encountered in GNSS and wireless systems.
Proficiency with modeling in MATLAB and/or C/C++/System C.
A desire to understand how things work at the most fundamental level.

Description
- Partner with systems engineers, analog/RF IC designers, digital designers and firmware engineers to develop innovations that build outstanding performance and enable novel applications in the portable & wearable consumer electronics space.
- Work closely with analog/RF IC designers to understand, characterize and compensated for non-idealities of real-life GNSS/wireless devices.
- Collaborate with digital designers and firmware engineers, translating your algorithms into design specifications, and shepherding them through design, verification, and post-silicon bring-up.

Education & Experience
MSEE with focus on digital communication, signal processing, systems theory or equivalent engineering degree required.
Ph.D. in related areas of signal processing is a plus.
