Little Passports, part of the BEGiN family, has a new opportunity for a Web Developer to join our growing team! This role will report to our San Francisco, CA office in a hybrid capacity or can be remote based in select US locations.

Reporting into our Senior Engineering Manager, the Web Developer will be an integral member responsible as a primary technical counterpart for building and maintaining new/existing features and functionalities and frontend architect for customized wordpress working along with/on SEO Optimization and CRO initiatives. 

You will:

  • Be an integral member of the conversion rate optimization squad,  informing and developing key features and a/b tests to create best-in-class e-commerce experiences
  • Be the primary technical counterpart for an external Wordpress development team, ensuring code quality through code reviews, implementation oversight and technical inputs
  • Understand the current architecture and build new features and functionality on our e-commerce front-end which leverages a customize version of Wordpress and Magento 
  • Design and manage the website back-end including database.
  • Work with and make necessary changes to WordPress themes and plugins
  • Troubleshoot content, code and api issues.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, fix and optimize website for SEO
  • Monitor the performance of the live website and conduct website performance tests.

Must Haves:

  • 2-3 years of proven work experience in Wordpress development and custom implementations
  • 1+ years of experience in SEO 
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS/SASS, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery, JSX, PHP
  • Experience working with GraphQL
  • Experience working with version control systems Git
  • Experience working in agile environment
  • Experience working with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console
  • Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
  • Experience working with responsive design and ability to work/test with various mobile platforms
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience integrating with and launching A/B tests & Personalizations using Dynamic Yield, Optimizely or similar platform
  • Experience working with ADA Compliance
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform is a plus
  • Experience working with Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) 
  • Familiarity with website optimizations such as CDN, image compressions and efficient asset loading
