Greenlight is an Atlanta-based fintech company that makes a debit card for kids and companion apps for the family. We proudly serve more than 4 million parents and kids, with in-app tools for sending money, setting savings goals, monitoring balances, managing chores, automating allowance, and investing.

But that’s not all that we do. Here at Greenlight, we are on a mission to support parents and help every kid grow up to be financially healthy and happy. It’s no small task, but it’s the reason we leap out of bed every morning to come to work. Because creating a better, brighter future for kids depends on it.

Greenlight is looking for a VP of Engineering to lead Site Reliability and Cloud Infrastructure Engineering as we rapidly scale. In this role, you will oversee the Site Reliability, Cloud Infrastructure and Tech Ops Teams. These teams build, scale and operate highly reliable and performant systems and processes for our consumer product and partnership platforms in a cloud native environment (we use AWS). We are looking for a leader who thrives in a fast paced and quickly changing environment and can help us deliver excellent products at scale. This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

Technologies we use:

  • Cloud: AWS (EKS, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ALB, WAF, Route53, Lambda, S3)
  • Languages: Typescript, Kotlin, Node.js, Javascript, Go
  • Infrastructure: Datadog, Helm, Ambassador, k8s, k9s, Lens, Rundeck, Terraform, Github Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Skeema
  • Data: Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB

What you will be doing:

  • Lead a team of managers and highly-skilled engineers across our SRE, Cloud, Tooling, and Technical Operations teams
  • Work in close partnership with leaders in product, quality and engineering to guide our product and platform engineering teams to build fast, reliable and scalable production systems
  • Drive the Engineering roadmap to scale our products and systems and reduce the operational burden while improving the customer experience
  • Improve technical operations processes and monitoring to address production level incidents quickly. Lead the response to production issues, blameless post mortem culture, and achieve 99.99% uptime
  • Work closely with the recruiting team to support the recruitment of top talent, and hire, develop and coach a high-performing team of managers and engineers with an emphasis on building diverse and inclusive teams.

What you should bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, site reliability engineering, and/or cloud architecture and infrastructure
  • Demonstrated a history of building high performing and diverse teams. This includes hiring, mentoring, providing career development opportunities as well as a history of performance management
  • Technical expertise in cloud native technologies, site reliability engineering and building high performance and scalable products and systems. This is not a hands-on role but you will drive the strategy of Site Reliability across the product and engineering organizations with company wide visibility
  • A deep understanding of multi-region, high availability architecture is required
