Virtual Manufacturing Process Development Engineer
Description
As the Virtual Manufacturing Process Development Engineer, you will provide engineering process and PLM technical leadership to Manufacturing Engineering Process owners during the re-engineering of their business processes. This position will work hands-on with the process owners and IT to develop and validate the targeted business processes leveraging the PLM suite of software tools. Assignments will involve a high level of independent judgment, frequent contact with stakeholders both inside and outside the work group, as well as responsibility for tracking, executing, and communicating a course of action to complete a project.
- Lead and support projects to achieve business strategies as defined by the ME Smart Engineering Strategy. Identify, develop, and prioritize business requirements & use cases for projects. Develop and execute project plans.
- Interface with ME Centers, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and other functional customers (internal and external to GM) and with IT partners to accomplish the goals.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for enhancing and/or reengineering business processes using the integrated ME PLM Suite of software tools
- Prepare, analyze & present project status and metric data for reviews to leadership, customers, and project teams.
- Support Global ME User Community. Identify and help resolve ME PLM Suite of Tools integration issues including root cause analysis and impact assessment. Work with IT and/or suppliers to develop and implement solutions.

Qualifications
Basic Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Siemens PLM suite of tools to include NX, Teamcenter & Teamcenter Visualization.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive manufacturing systems and/or processes; demonstrated knowledge of math-based CAD/CAM tools
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.
- Analytical problem-solving capabilities for those problems which are unusual or difficult.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with local and global team members, IT, customers, and suppliers to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business process and standard work development and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal (team) and communication (oral, written) skills to work effectively with global business and technology partners.
- Ability to work well in a fast, flexible, responsive, metrics-driven organization.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated level of analytical problem-solving ability.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Engineering, Automotive Technology, Math, Computer Science, or Information Technology)
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
- Engineering project leadership experience with strong project management and implementation methodology skills.
- Ability to analyze and model difficult abstract problems using PLM tools/methods.
- Experience across multiple automotive domains such as Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Powertrain/Propulsion Systems, Manufacturing Operations, or Creative Design.
- Software deployment/development methodology experience including, planning, test processes, user acceptance testing, pilots, issue triage, production deployment, and training.
- Knowledge of Global Product Development Library (GPDL) and Knowledge-based Engineering (KBE) Applications.
