You will join the Video Engineering Team as a Video Codec Algorithm Engineer to research and develop video codec standard for Zoom's products!
We are seeking a passionate Video Codec Algorithm Engineer to research and develop video compression algorithms/video encoder/decoder to improve real-time video quality and performance on Zoom video product.
Responsibilities:

• Research and evaluate algorithms currently used in related applications
• Possess strong skills in the areas of development and real-time implementation of video encoder/decoder
• Participate in research and developing new video codec standard
• Design and implement video compression algorithm to improve the quality
• Design new algorithms to tackle new and existing problems

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of experience
• Proficient in C++ and C programming
• Prior experience of x86/64 or arm assembly coding
• Solid research background in video codec
• Experienced in video coding standards such as VVC, AV1, HEVC, H.264/AVC, SVC, VPx
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player

Preferred skills:

• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field (p rior industry experience preferred but not required)

New York City Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$97,920.00 USD
Maximum :
$181,170.00 USD
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
