Vice President of Engineering- Media Delivery Platform

We're looking for a VP of Engineering for the Media Delivery Platform organization at Snap!
What you'll do:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Media Delivery Platform teams across multiple offices, primarily Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco
- Build and maintain a best-in-class Media Delivery Platform that continues to deliver fast, trustworthy and constantly evolving functionality to our Users
- Develop organizational-level goals and drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the Media Delivery Platform teams
- Collaborate with Design, Product and Engineering teams distributed across multiple offices
- Drive strategic thought on key aspects of the Snapchat product design and engineering architecture
- Grow and mentor a team of exceptional software engineers, software engineers and technical leaders
- Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
- Develop a team structure that is inclusive, thoughtful and efficient
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Able to prioritize duties and work well on your own
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail
- Background working with both internal and external partners
- Strong CS fundamentals
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- 5+ years of experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading a large team at scale and managing engineering with an eye to driving efficiency
- Background in consumer social product development
- Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment
- Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers
- Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
- Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others
- Experience with data science and Internet-scale infrastructure
- Experience managing teams of at least 70 engineers
Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
- Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) : The base salary for this position is $360,000- $500,000
- Zone B : The base salary for this position is $342,000- $500,000
- Zone C : The base salary for this position is $306,000- $500,000
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
