Careers with naviHealth. At naviHealth, our mission is to work with extraordinarily talented people who are committed to making a positive and powerful impact on society by transforming health care.
naviHealth is the result of almost two decades of dedicated visionary leaders and innovative organizations challenging the status quo for care transition solutions. We do health care differently and we are changing health care one patient at a time.
The User Experience Designer is a hands-on, individual contributor. You will build prototypes, draw user interfaces, and design software experiences for clinical roles, as well as users in Hospitals and Post-Acute Care facilities. From day one onward, you will design complex software with a deep purpose.
Designers are the chief evangelists for our users. It is critically important to make tools that perfectly match their workflows - to optimize the experience of a clinician supporting all aspects of a patient's journey. Making these tasks effortless and efficient gives us purpose and brings great value.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating design deliverables including: high and low fidelity prototypes, information architecture diagrams and workflows, and usability tests to validate our software products including mobile and desktop devices
  • Create intuitive, user experiences with strong, conceptual design thinking
  • Collaborate with front-end UI and back-end developers, product management, support, and other cross-functional teams to meet highly technical business objectives for naviHealth's products
  • Translate ideas and concepts into workable wireframes, user task flow diagrams or journey maps, interactive prototypes, and functional design specifications
  • Work to achieve operational targets with an impact on the overall achievement of the team
  • Communicate and present to key stakeholders, user needs, and optimal design solutions
  • Follow an Enterprise Style Guide (design patterns) to work systematically within a suite of products. Sometimes creating unique elements that relate to the patterns of an established design system
  • Participate in many forms of user testing and validation. From simple, internal impressions, to formally moderated user tests to validate the product's direction and usability
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an Associate's program or higher, plus 2+ years of practical experience OR a certificate program in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interactions, or Product Design with relevant training (includes User Experience boot camps, e.g. General Assembly, Flatiron School or similar)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in graphic design, interaction design, information architecture, front-end development, or User Experience design
  • Experience with, or ability to learn, Product Metrics tools - e.g., Pendo, Google Analytics
  • Without writing code, understand technical possibilities and limitations of enterprise software. Be able to think in terms of what the technology can do without limiting options or prematurely optimizing the design
  • Ability to work while supervised by mentoring designers as well as share work freely with peers
  • Ability to face problems/issues that require a basic understanding of the products with a strong analytical ability
  • Clearly communicate detailed information (both spoken and written)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field
  • Experience with the tools and craft of UX Design: interactive prototypes, visual design mockups, journey maps and work-flows, user-testing methods, persona development - using such products as Sketch/Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, Axure or Figma
  • Interest and experience with front-end coding languages and techniques
  • Experience working with pattern libraries (style guides, design systems, and components)
  • Psychology or user research background

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • The work environment is a corporate office setting
  • This position requires the regular use of computers for the majority of the day, however standing options or flexible desk arrangements are available
  • Travel requirements: 10% travel to customer locations or interoffice. This is an opportunity to engage with actual users or to work directly with colleagues at different locations. Domestic travel only
