Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This new platform (Ultifi) will seamlessly connect in-vehicle computing controls with cloud and edge computing resources.
Our team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will have deep full stack web development and architecture knowledge that is able guide development teams for the new Ultifi Developer Web Portal to join us in our mission! Our developers work in agile, multi-functional, collaborative environments. All team members must demonstrate GM's Cultural Behaviors of accountability, collaboration, integrity, and inclusion.
Our Ultifi Developer Web Portal team works with the Ultifi Apps and Services to implement a scalable development portal supporting cross functional needs while keeping safety and security at top of mind. The Senior Software Engineering will have knowledge in working with web tools, cloud based services, integration of apps, and building automated testing. The Ultifi Development Portal is foundational to move General Motors towards an industry first intelligent and responsive Software Defined Vehicle.
- Architect the development and launch of the new Ultifi Web Portal
- Provide technical guidance to team members
- Be a player coach, and perform development and testing activities as needed
- Perform root cause analysis, technology evaluation, and quick prototypes
- Commit and deliver well-defined solutions
- Multi-functional collaboration with other development teams and/or support functions
- Career development coaching and mentoring activities for team members and direct reports
- Develop and follow the specified software development methodology and standards
- Promote improvements in programming practices such as acceptance-test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
- Document software design and ensure that user documentation (e.g. configuration guides, installation guides, etc.) meets requirements
- Integrate software with existing systems
- Promote tools ecosystem within the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Automate testing processes
- Work closely with peers, developers, and cross-functional teams
Additional Description
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional software design and development experience
- 7+ years Full Stack development experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or 4 years equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong working knowledge of web development and technologies using a cloud environment such as Azure
- Demonstrated knowledge in software programming languages (Python, Java, web development, Angular, C, C++ and C#)
- Development methodologies (Reusable Code, Code Review, Unit Testing)
- Source control software (Git or TFS).
- Experience with CI/CD technologies and build pipelines
- Experience with agile teams to deliver software (including participation in code reviews)
- Strong technical communication skills
- Experience providing technical guidance to team members
- Creative, well-adapted sense of responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or knowledge of the following tools:
- AngularJS, Angular2 or ReactJS, Docker
- Frameworks like SpringBoot/Junit
- Azure DevOps and build and release pipelines
- Jenkins, Artifactory, Black Duck, SonarQube, Kafka, HashiCorp, Pulsar
