The Red Hat North America (NA) Commercial Services team is looking for a Transformation Architect to join us. In this role, you will join a team of subject matter experts who co-create innovative software solutions using platforms, emerging technology, and modern software design methods. You'll be a catalyst for building customer communities focused around modern technology and practices. You will team with customers and partners to accelerate their product development or infrastructure deployment and teach them new ways of working together to deliver business value and new capabilities. You will create lasting enthusiasm for building great software offerings using principles of open source culture. As the Transformation Architect, you'll be a subject matter expert in open digital transformation technologies and practices. You will have three major areas of responsibility: understand, communicate, and extend Red Hat's vision and brand of open transformation; provide technology and open practice leadership to our Red Hat sales and delivery teams, customers, and prospective customers to help identify, pursue, win, and deliver strategic open transformation opportunities; provide technology and practice delivery and oversight to the delivery of our transformation engagements. In future, you'll travel frequently, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Lead large scale transformation presales and delivery efforts from a technology and practices adoption perspective
  • Develop, close, and deliver digital transformation opportunities by aligning, presenting, and establishing credibility for Red Hat's open transformation message to customer's technical and executive stakeholders
  • Create measurable hypotheses tied to business value and design experiments that tests those hypotheses to help our customers quickly realize their business goals
  • Constantly gain knowledge of new technology and innovation possibilities
  • Become a trusted adviser to our customers, helping them achieve business success in an ever-changing technology landscape
  • Use your critical thinking skills to tackle tough problems in an innovative way
  • Mentor Red Hat's architects in transformation skills and practices
  • Travel up to 50% to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Team up with our customers to lead the design and implementation of application prototypes, using modern AppDev practices and open source emerging technologies; some of the domains we cover are: infrastructure and application architectures, microservices, API management, and web-scale architectures, DevSecOps, agile methodologies and ceremonies, container-based continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CI), cloud automation, and everything-as-code, hybrid cloud adoption, operational concepts and models including site reliability engineering (SRE), and facilitation of group collaboration exercises


What you will bring

  • Experience with facilitating infrastructure and software architecture design or business value ideation sessions to C-level executives, chief architects, middle management, and software engineers using Open Practice Library techniques or similar
  • Experience leading successful programmatic or enterprise-wide software development modernization, infrastructure deployments, and agile or DevSecOps adoption
  • Experience with the design, development, testing, and deployment of large distributed applications
  • Communication skills for both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to explain agile, lean, and DevSecOps methodologies in easy-to-understand terms
  • Experience implementing large scale agile and DevSecOps methodologies and practices
  • Applied knowledge of modern software delivery methods like test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), CI, and CD
  • Experience with design and implementation of Kubernetes at a programmatic or enterprise-wide level in hybrid or multi-cloud environments
  • Experience working with automation tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet, or Chef
  • Ability to perform customer-facing activities in a fast-paced environment with short time frames
  • Knowledge of design patterns applicable to modern software development
  • Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to self-study and learn quickly and put new knowledge into practice
  • Passion for open source software
  • Desire to share knowledge and mentor other associates
