AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer II to be based in the following locations: San Jose, CA, Oakland, CA, San Francisco, CA and Sacramento, CA

Job Summary/Responsibilities

• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Traffic Engineering and Analysis.
• Experience in traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation; traffic safety analysis, traffic signal warrants, traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system analysis, and design; and traffic signing and pavement marking analysis and design.
• Experience with Traffic Impact Studies for development and transportation projects.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Experience with traffic analysis and simulation/modeling software including: Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, HCS, and other platforms utilized by local agencies in California.
• Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, analysis, planning, and writing technical reports.
