Job Description Threat modeling (also called architectural risk analysis) is an activity to reason about software security at the design level, as a complement to code-level security practices. To improve state-of-practice threat modeling activities to better support and expedite the software development process, the JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) Threat Modeling Center of Excellence (TMCoE) is working on an increased degree of automation for threat modeling, based on rich system models and knowledge bases, and is looking for the assistance of a Threat Modeling (Security Architect). As a Threat Modeling (Security Architect), you will conduct threat modeling and recommend technical controls of firm's critical infrastructure to ensure that they are highly resilient to threats (internal and external). Specific topics that you can work on include the following:
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and facilitate threat modeling in conjunction with other Subject Matter Experts by monitoring changes in the risk profile and exposure of the firm critical infrastructure (onprem, cloud or hybrid).
  • Interact with stakeholder to provide excellent service post completion of the architecture review as well as interaction during the engagements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in development of strategic security solutions to support JPMC businesses.
  • Providing support to find ways to use real data to automatically create accurate data flows and encourage data driven threat models at JPMC.


Qualifications:

  • Expert level experience with atleast one Threat Modeling tool is highly preferred.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
  • Knowledge in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture models/frameworks like TOGAF, Archimate, 4+1 architectural view model.
  • 3+ years of experience in offensive security - penetration testing, red team.
  • Demonstrated performance of at least 4 years' experience with security design/architecture reviews, code reviews, threat modeling at an enterprise level
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of threat modeling methodologies and related frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, CAPEC, etc.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of emerging trends, innovations in security technologies, methodologies and best practices.
  • A background in secure software engineering, affinity for model-based analysis, an analytical mind and capability of design-centric thinking, technical/practical implementation skills, and fluent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and passion for business strategy, business processes
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
  • Ability to create and maintain methodologies and process definitions
  • Experience developing, delivering, and managing large complex project.
