Thermal Engineer, Senior

Salary: $145,000- $165,000

York Space Systems is searching for a Senior Thermal Engineer experienced in all mission phases, including design, analysis, test, and operations. The role is responsible for ensuring all satellite components are designed to operate within temperature limits through the entire life cycle of a mission. The ideal candidate for this role enjoys using on-orbit data to improve the design and analysis of future missions and can develop empirical tools for designing similar systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform integrated thermal analysis to determine radiator/heater sizing and external coatings required to maintain all elements of the SV in thermal limits. 
• Support hardware developers in selection of materials, process, and tests that comply with thermal design. 
• Coordinate thermal interfaces between spacecraft subsystems.
• Flow down interfaces and environments to component suppliers. 
• Develop test and verification approaches and levels for thermal verification of components. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required. 
• 5+ years of design or systems engineering or other relevant experience. 
• Thermal Desktop/AutoCad. 
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively within an organization and convey decisions, direction, and conclusions in a manner meaningful to multiple audiences. 
• Extensive experience in spacecraft design, launch, and operation, including experience at all phases of the development lifecycle 
• Experience in integrated software/hardware verification and testing. 
• Ability to gain a security clearance.
