Job Description 

As a lead test engineer, you will be responsible for leading the testing of a U.S. Air Force system. Novetta is developing and deploying IoT technology to operate and manage a wide variety of sensors for the Air Force. The technology deploys to programmable logic controllers, on premise hardware, AWS cloud infrastructure, workstations, and mobile devices. You and your team will develop and expand the end-to-end infrastructure to test all parts of the system against new and emerging requirements. This is a fast-paced environment that requires coordination of automated and manual testing methodologies, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems, and coordination across engineering teams.

Basic Qualifications 

  • 6 years experience working closely with engineering and development teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand requirements
  • 5 years experience with automated and manual testing
  • Experience designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to ensure system requirements are met
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
  • Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple tests with the ability to synthesize summary and detailed results
  • Ability to quantitatively monitor and improve product testing and effectiveness
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field; or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

Desired Skills 

  • Experience leading technical teams and driving results
  • Experience in scripting and test automation.
  • Experience with the Linux command line environment
  • Ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies
  • Experience with Jira
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Clearance:

  • Active U.S. government Secret security clearance
