Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Test Engineer Manager, the Junior Test Engineer will function as a member of the Testing Department Team. Ensure that all products meet or exceed customer requirements. Responsible for Testing trainings, review and update test procedures. Work with Test Supervisor and Manufacturing Supervisor with daily production requirements and other activities. Participate on Test Equipment design, validation, and repairs. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with fast changing priorities all moving towards the overall goal of being efficient & prudent, and participating in a total team environment.

Job Description

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn sufficient knowledge of all KB products and test equipment used in production.
  • Enforce test personnel adhere to KB approved processes and test procedures.
  • Assist testing personnel with testing issues and failures.
  • Help with the implementation of processes into production for all new/revised KB products.
  • Develop corrective action process for product improvements.
  • Order Test Equipment, fixture supplies and components.
  • Participate during annual Test Equipment Calibration.
  • Participate on release of new product software.
  • Responsible to supply test personnel the required control units to be used to validate proper test fixture integrity at the first operation of each production order.
  • Confers with management personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of Test Equipment.
  • Create and update Production Documentation (Test Procedures, Production Forms and other Testing documents)
  • Participate and help as a member of the hiring team for the Testing Department.
  • Advanced experience (removing and soldering) with Thru-hole and SMT components (I.e. 0805, SOT-23, TSSOP-16, QFP-64, and smaller packages).
  • Ability to work safely on one's own and as a member of a team.
  • Enforce company rules and regulations.
  • Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Electronics/Engineer Associate Degree
  • General knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes
  • Solid written and oral communication skills for communication both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of PADS, OrCAD, AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Clerical and computer skills, Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. XA and MK a plus
  • Strong knowledge of PLC/HMI program development.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and teamwork skills
  • Flexible with changing assignments and priorities



Desirable

  • Electronic/Engineer Bachelor's Degree



Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 1 years working experience in the field.



Desirable

  • 3 years working experience in the field.



Languages

  • English necessary and some Spanish/Creole a plus



WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to sit, walk, and move around for long hours at a time and carry loads of 50+ lbs. if necessary.
  • Must be able to detect different colors to ensure for correct assembly of units.
  • Constantly works around moving machinery
