Test Development Engineer - The Toro Company
JOB PURPOSE:
This position will interface with product design, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to identify, design, and deploy manufacturing test solutions for new products. Designs test equipment calibration plans tracible to NIST and trains manufacturing partners on using, maintaining, and calibrating test equipment. Works with Technology Architect to store manufacturing test results and data. Stays informed of ISO requirements in terms of manufacturing test for electrical and autonomous products. Maintains and improves test and diagnostic software.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains understanding of cutting edge TTC products and proposes solutions to support their manufacture and test
- Develops new test procedures for upcoming products and designs new tests as necessary
- Investigates and defines manufacturing test requirements
- Communicates testing standards to new product and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance
- Creates and maintains documentation (BOMs, schematics, etc.) for test systems
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in an ABET accredited Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical or Agricultural engineering program or
- Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical or Agricultural engineering from a university with an ABET accredited undergraduate engineering program
- At least four years of manufacturing test experience
- Experience in C# or similar
- Experience in LabVIEW
- Ability to influence technology plans, assert own ideas and persuade others
- Experience with vision systems and wireless components desirable
OTHER JOB RELATED COMPONENTS:
- Travel to test sites, vendors, manufacturing facilities, customers and others, as required
- Give work direction to test technicians or drafters.
- May act as a technical lead, influencing direction on a major project
Compensation determined by education, experience and skillset - targeted/estimated range: starting at $85K
