At the core of Nium is a powerful platform, an extensive network and a portfolio of APIs, all of which combine to accelerate your growth as a global business.
We are on a journey to enable hyper-scale growth for our customers by providing an increasing number of APIs and capabilities to developers worldwide, in new and innovative ways. As the Lead Technical Writer on the Developer Platform and Experience product team, you will create momentum and drive adoption of Nium’s Open Platform by taking full ownership of the of the technical writing for Nium’s Product Documentation and APIs.
You will make Nium’s products easy to use and integrate by creating useful content for developers and everyday users. Our documentation must exemplify quality and instill trust. Nium cares deeply about developer experience, both for our users and engineering employees. Our products and internal tools require innovation and creativity to create an excellent user experience and to increase developer velocity. We need a lead writer with exceptional writing ability and solid technical competence to provide an engaging developer experience. You’ll drive the technical writing effort at Nium to enable our users and engineers to quickly ship reliable code, while minimizing cognitive overhead.

What you’ll do:
As the Lead Technical Writer you will:
- Drive the overall effort to ensure that we have the highest quality documentation for our users
- Document new products, features, and APIs
- Document standards, guidelines, and best practices for engineers
- Organize documentation and make it easily discoverable
- Maintain content quality through curation and content performance analysis
- Push Nium and the industry forward by dreaming up and implementing new ways to deliver, author, analyze, and interact with technical content
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in high-scale environment as a technical writer/developer of technical content
- A deep passion and empathy for developers, basic understanding of web development and API, and the curiosity to learn new technologies
- Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly
- A combination of creative and analytical skills and a commitment to quality, accuracy, and consistency, including adherence to brand and technical standards
- Track record of supporting and enabling developers of all types to produce amazing products and services for their end users
- Result oriented- ability to find solutions to difficult problems quickly and effectively
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and have experience with writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience
- Proficient in writing software documentation
Requirements
Nice to have requirements
- Experience in the payments or fintech domains; familiar with the payments, cards, wallets, BaaS, digital commerce, fintech
- Experience writing about Ruby or another backend language like Go, Python, PHP, Node, or Java
- Experience creating automated documentation tools
- Experience with large information architecture projects
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and have experience with writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, dynamic environment and support fellow team members in the achievement of their goals
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects at various stages of product development simultaneously
