As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with the Data Vendors, Product Managers, Engineers, and our external partners to develop and deliver integrated solutions to facilitate our instant-decision insurance experience. Ours is an exciting, multi-faceted role where you will serve as part internal consultant, part technical writer, part integration architect, and part software engineer. You will be a critical liaison between the Bestow platform and our vendors, who provide the data needed for our platform to make real-time eligibility and classification decisions.

The Data Vendors Team at Bestow is responsible for overseeing third-party data integrations into the Bestow Life Insurance Platform. When needed, the team builds custom solutions and executes the integration and testing process using our existing and new technologies and patterns.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Gaining a complete understanding of third party data vendors’ technical requirements and data formats to facilitate integration into Bestow’s platform
• Providing top quality support to the underwriting team, including rolling out frequent integration improvements as our platform continues to grow
• Alongside the Product Managers, guide communications with data vendors to share what data requirements and issues need to be solved and the flexibility available for proposed solutions.
• Building and refining internal data vendor integration documentation to improve the efficiency of the underwriting team

ABOUT YOU

• 4+ years of full-stack professional software development experience (Python, Go, or TypeScript preferred)
• Strong understanding of SDLC life cycle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience designing and debugging APIs and event-driven systems
• Experience as a technical customer liaison using project & customer management tools (JIRA, ZenDesk, etc.)
• Knows how to work in a distributed systems and microservices environment
• Automated testing experience is a plus
• “Infrastructure as code” (terraform, etc.) experience is a plus
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
