What this job involves:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Capacity Management and Reporting: Working closely with the IT Hardware Planning Group, and under the direction of the Data Center Facility Demand and Sustainability Manager, continuously assess Data Center facility utilization at all levels of the critical power and cooling delivery systems. Prepare periodic reports on performance of the data center facilities.

Sustainability Analyst: Identifies, analyzes, and recommends projects that optimize Data Center facility energy/water utilization, waste reduction, or other cost reducing opportunities.

BMS data analytics: Analyze BMS data, endpoint calibration, and other factors that contribute to optimizing data center operations.

Complex Project Support: Provide input on technical reviews of detail design drawings/specifications, bid leveling, aide facility operations in developing complex switching procedures, and support commissioning activities.

Non-Complex Project Management: Provide Project Management for non-complex projects identified by the Capacity Management program and approved by supervision. These projects include RPP and whip deployments/retirements, and non-complex sustainability projects. These project management responsibilities include design, budget creation and maintenance, proposal review, bid leveling, purchase requisition creation, schedule creation and maintenance, monitoring work quality and worker safety, and project reporting.

Other duties may be assigned.

Skills:

Communicates frequently and effectively with peers, construction managers, architects and other project team members. This is a key attribute of this role and this must be performed seemlessly with other areas of responsibilities. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, exhibit a professional attitude, and possess time management skills.

Must be an active listener, giving full attention to what others people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

Must possess critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems.

Must possess problem solving skills and be able to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and offer/implement solutions.

Must possess judgment and decision-making skills and be able to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Strong analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

A willingness/ability to learn of emerging, critical facility technologies

Proficient at the use of MS Office Suite, and a Microsoft Excel subject matter expert. Familiarity with CMMS, BMS, DCIM, MCIM systems desired.

Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Works with team members and groups to establish priorities, set goals and track outcomes.

Applies specialized knowledge within area of expertise, understanding broader impact on the company. Analyzes a wide range of issues by applying judgment and technical know-how to identify creative ways improve projects, policies and/ or programs.

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of intangibles factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Erroneous analysis or failure to achieve results will negatively impact costs and use other resources unproductively.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience and be able to describe in detail the value that their analyses have brought to previous employer(s). Mission critical industry experience is desired but not required.
