ICF's IT Modernization division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology department, seeking a Technical Lead. Our team is a leading provider of Digital Transformation services for Federal agencies. Our services focus on enabling agency mission and business transformation using industry-leading low-code platforms, mobile applications, robotics process automation and data analytics platforms. We focus on offering a full range of architecture and planning, system implementation, integration, analytics and O&M for our customers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems through hands-on application of software development experience
  • Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that are interoperable with global aviation standards
  • Work with cloud native stack and build on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway) or other cloud infrastructure using technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and Serverless
  • Participate in internal and external technology discussions and meetings that include customers, industry, standard development organizations, and government entities.
  • Prior hands-on technical experience with application development / architecture / engineering
  • Provide continuous improvement by re-engineering of processes to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments to develop efficient, robust, and scalable software in a timely manner
  • Ability to create processes and procedures to better streamline development teams
  • Assist in quality control by conducting frequent code reviews, paired programming, and other collaborative sessions.
  • Coach team members by providing both in-line and post-effort feedback.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for assigned client


What you must have:

  • 7+ years overall IT experience
  • 4+ years of extensive AWS Cloud experience
  • 1+ years of hands-on API Gateway and Lambda experience
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance per Federal contract requirement


What we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • RDS or Aurora experience
  • CI/CD experience with Lambda
  • Enterprise solution development
  • Legacy application experience
  • Extensive agile experience is a plus. We are not looking for someone who has worked primarily with Waterfall
  • Clear path of growth. Developer, Sr Developer, Tech Lead or even Architect experience with hands-on background.
