The Sensors team is responsible for the development and deployment of all sensors on our autonomous vehicles. As a Technical Lead Manager for Camera ISP, you will lead a small, but experienced team of engineers who are specialists in image sensor and camera ISP tuning and optimization. You will be working closely with the embedded software team to enable Camera ISP functionality on new hardware, as well as supporting algorithm design, development, and implementation/optimization. You will also be working closely with the perception team in optimizing the camera output to machine learning models and autonomous vehicle use cases.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead a team that is responsible for delivering image sensor and camera ISP output that is optimized for autonomous vehicle use-cases
- Develop technology roadmap of next generation camera ISP processing, proposing initial concepts proved through prototyping, simulations, and design of experiments, and developing architectures of future generation cameras
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors on specifications, system definition, feature development, and image quality tuning and evaluation
- Collaborate with machine perception developers and hardware teams to Architect vision sensing strategy for autonomous vehicles at scale
- Innovate new techniques and conduct studies in optimizing ISP and performance for machine perception
- Work with sensor validation and vehicle fleet teams for performing ISP characterization, image quality tuning and evaluation, and troubleshooting for image quality related issues
What you must have:
- BS, MS/ PhD in imaging science, EE, CS, or similar field with 5+ years of hands-on experience in camera ISP tuning and evaluation, along with minimum 2+ years experience in management
- Must have hands-on experience in various ISP modules tuning – AE, AWB, HDR processing, noise reduction and sharpness, tone mapping, and color tuning.
- Experience with different ISP architectures, camera HW development, and compression technologies such as including JPEG, H.264/H.265 and AV1
- Strong Python skills with experience in image processing and data analysis

- Experience with automotive ISP tuning is a big plus
- Exposure to firmware design and/or real-time systems
- Experience with vendor management and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and framework
