Technical Advisor - Systems Engineer
KBR is seeking a Senior System Engineers to join our team in APG, MD. In this role you will support our customer, Program Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A).
Role and Responsibilities:
This position supports the Product Manager for Fielding and Training on the IPC-v2 system and is primarily responsible for overseeing system implementation and ensuring customer requirements are met in a technical project management role.
Job Description:
- Systems engineering - responsible for system requirements, design, documentation, risks, quality
- System documentation (Engineering artifacts, contract artifacts, requirements traceability, manuals)
- Assists in the definition and programming of moderately complex software
- Works effectively on several phases of systems/software programming/analysis with little direction, but may require some instruction and guidance for other aspects
- Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems for the organization's products
- Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design
- Participates in the development of test strategies
- Solving engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronic, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field technical discipline
Skills and Detailed Experience Required:
- A minimum of five to eight (5 - 8) years' related work experience is required
- Focus in systems engineering
- Position requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Creative problem solver to devise solutions using test systems/tools, company or customer furnished computer systems and equipment or commercial off-the-shelf packages
- Plans, develops, implements tests, and customizes software test servers and tools
- Support system/software test design, engineering evaluation, configuration management
- Improve technical expertise through the identification of new processes and technical alternatives to resolve problems and/or general improvements
- Experience with the development of systems of systems architectures
- Experience with the development and implementation of information systems to meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Experience with all phases of systems
- and product development life cycles
Previous experience with Army DCGS-A program:
- Experience in working with the intelligence community
- Experience with one or more of the following: system development, software development, hardware development, or mission support
- Experience with evaluating engineering proposals and ROMs
- Knowledge of some or all of the following: data architecture, data dissemination, and information security planning
- Experience with Army intelligence analysis processes, information systems security protocols, or system interoperability
Contract Requirements/Allowable Substitutions:
- Master's degree and twelve (12) or more years related experience may be substituted for required experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI.
- Detail-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills
Contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
