Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution. Mentor software developers in the team to create effective programs using latest technologies and build technical expertise and become a strong pillar by providing innovative solutions. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations. Engage the developers in a design discussion and peer review the code of other developers and direct the teams towards a strong design mindset. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices. Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion. Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, with, product owner from the beginning of the design work. Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participate in refining user stories. Responsible for development and developing unit testing and supporting integration and functional testing. Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support. Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner. Design and create build and release pipelines through automated deployment tools for applications in the portfolio using Azure DevOps/Git/UrbanCode. Does not have management responsibilities. This position serves as the technical expert on the team and is often the strongest engineer, answering and solving the most complex, unusual issues, but does not have the skills nor the interest in management. Therefore, in the technical industry and many companies, this position is often aligned at the same level as an entry level manager. This creates a career path for an individual contributor to remain as an individual contributor and does not have to seek a management role for promotion/pay.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and eight to twelve years of experience as a developer or equivalent education and related training or experience

2. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge

3. Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes

4. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices

5. Ability to lead complex projects

6. Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems

7. Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective

Preferred Skills:

1. Master's degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

2. Have mindset to modernize the monolithic applications to micro services and API based by using latest technologies

3. Experience in Java, Spring, Hibernate

4. Able to design applications to container and could ready using Openshift/Docker, AWS/Azure.

5. Banking or financial services experience

6. Deep knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills

7. Professional experience building apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level

8. Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks

9. Strong understanding of SOA methodologies and service architectures

10. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies

11. Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling)

12. Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ, JMS, )

13. Experience with build tools, such as ADS, Git, Maven, and Jenkins
