What does a great Systems Engineering, Sr. Advisor I do?
- Leads troubleshooting calls and drives to root cause resolution; makes recommendations for long-term resolution of problems across the enterprise.
- Leads complex initiatives and issues within the MQ functional technical area as well as cross functional areas.
- Works closely with the application development organization and other functional IT areas to determine best practices, tuning, problem resolution and root cause analysis in the MQ & Middleware space.
- Deploy, upgrade and manage infrastructures for the MQ environment on cloud and on-prem
- Provides technical consulting on the use & integration of the MQ & Middleware system utilities, tools, and applications.
- Creating and updating CI-CD pipelines.
- Establishing and Maintaining automation frames works.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
- 12+ years administering and architecture of IBM MQ environments, including deployment, upgrades, configurations, setup, performance tuning.
- Strong MQ troubleshooting stills are a must with the ability to drive to root cause.
- Experience with IBM MQ appliances.
- Understanding network topologies, common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP) and experience with configuring network interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with multiple MQ topologies like clustering, multi queue manager instances etc.
- Hands on experience with Message Broker/ACE
- Hands-on experience in configuring SSL.
- Strong working understanding of different operating systems like Linux, Windows and AIX.
- Hands on experience with Shell, Perl and python etc scripting to automate day to day activities.
- Experience working with monitoring tools like ITCAM, log management tools like Splunk.
- A self-starter with strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Experience working with large dynamic MQ environments.
- 24X7 Production support is required.
- Experience with audit requirements for PII, and PCI.
- Familiarity with using a ticketing system to document and track work status.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
