Systems Engineer
Location: 12325 Port Grace Boulevard, La Vista, NE 68128
Due to the nature of this position, we are seeking candidates local to the Omaha area to work a hybrid schedule, splitting their time between home and office.
Summary:
The Systems Engineer isprimary responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining datacenter equipment including storage, compute, and virtualization, monitor performance, and troubleshoot/resolve any system problems. Additionally, the duties of the Systems Engineer s include providing security analysis and general data center-related tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties associated with the Data Center Services Team, directed by DCS Leadership.
- Performs all duties associated with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Perform configuration tuning as necessary.
- Create documentation based on standardized templates and update any previous documentation with new changes.
- Ensures that all supported systems are highly reliable, secure, and performing at acceptable levels.
- Performs root cause analysis of outages and ensures they are repaired.
- Reviews any new patches or releases that would improve performance or are recommended by the vendor.
- Continually enhances alarming and system monitoring for servers and network.
- Aids in the research, development, and deployment of new technologies and multi-vendor integration.
- Implements and maintains a consistent backup and disaster recovery plan
- Ensures timely and effective delivery of hardware upgrades, network upgrades, and new configurations.
- Participates in planning design, technical review, and implementation for new infrastructure hardware and operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
- Assists in developing an ongoing security strategy.
- Performs various projects and tasks assigned by manager.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems & Network Administration or another related field is preferred. High school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Basic Requirements:
- 2 years' experience with Windows Server operating systems required.
- Experience writing scripts to automate common tasks
- Knowledge of Microsoft clustering, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and Windows networking
- 2 years' experience of physical and virtual server builds
- 2 years' experience with VMware virtualization technologies
- Working knowledge of storage systems
- Working knowledge of SAN technologies
- Knowledge of TCP/IP with the ability to demonstrate and describe networking fundamentals.
- Knowledge of virtualization principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple projects and team members
- Ability to be at work on a regular and predictable basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to build and maintain server and network hardware
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Ability to analyze problems and identify alternative solutions
Preferred Requirements:
- Cisco network Engineering
- Understanding of the Cisco FirePower and IWAN technologies.
- Cisco CCNP or other Cisco Certifications
- Avaya experience.
