Eaton's Aerospace Group, Fuel Motion Control Systems Division is currently seeking a Systems Engineer Specialist to join our team. This position is a remote position based in the United States.

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.

The annual salary range for this role is $101,360 - $139,370.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for design and certification of Aerospace hydraulic systems. The individual will be responsible for architecture design and studies, requirements development and flow-down, system integration, and certification compliance. The position will coordinate across the Fuel & Motion Control Systems Division (FMC) Hydraulic sites to support these projects.

A successful candidate will need knowledge and prior experience of Aerospace hydraulic and actuation systems and components, be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, and lead system and sub-system level projects.

In this function you will:

  • Provide technical leadership for a team of system and product engineers and provide technical leadership as part of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) to execute on programs.
  • Execute on systems engineering functional capabilities including requirements development, flow-down, traceability, and compliance; system architecture design and analysis; project engineering; control system design; system integration and verification; certification compliance; functional competency in modeling and simulation, reliability, maintainability, safety, motors, electronics, firmware, and software.
  • Prepare and lead technical proposals including engineering schedules and non-recurring engineering (NRE) estimates to support the commercial response to requests for proposals (RFP).
  • Prepare and review project-related documentation to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Prepare presentations for Eaton leadership and representation at customer meetings as a technical expert. Highlight issues and manage customer requirements when necessary.
  • Develop standard processes, standards, and working instructions as appropriate.
  • Promote and use Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) processes and tools within the Systems Engineering function.
  • Work directly with internal and external customers, suppliers, project engineers, design engineers, test engineers, functional leads, program management, and other product team members to develop systems and products.
  • Develop efficient tools, design methods, analyses, and verification techniques to ensure accurate system architectures and predictions.
  • Provide mentoring to systems engineers and product engineers.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of system, product design, development, and/or production design problem resolution experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience on Aerospace hydraulic systems and/or electrical actuation systems.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Fifteen (15) years of technical leadership in aerospace hydraulic and/or actuation systems.
  • Design for Six Sigma or Six-Sigma (DMAIC) Greenbelt.
  • Experience in Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE), MATLAB Simulink, Avionics, Controls (Control Logic) & Monitoring.
  • INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
