Job Description:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a mechanical or systems engineer for their organization responsible for the lubrication and thermal management of commercial and military gas turbine engines.

This position offers opportunities for cross-discipline collaboration within Pratt & Whitney, direct interaction with high-level internal and external customers, and a wide variety of non-repetitive engineering analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

Executing lubrication and thermal management system models.

Developing system models for new engine programs

Specification of performance requirements for system components and requirements for controls logic

Specifying engine validation test plans, interpreting test data, and calibrating models based on results

Summarizing system status to requirements during presentations at design reviews

Contributing to root cause investigations and troubleshooting for in-service and development engine programs by processing full flight "big data"

Basic Requirements:

B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering

2+ years of engineering experience required

US Citizenship required due to program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Detailed understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics

Experience in system-level analysis tools (e.g., Dymola, MATLAB, Simulink, Easy5)

Experience with Python, MATLAB or other coding languages

Active security clearance or ability to obtain

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
