Mission of the Position
The EMC Systems Engineer is responsible for the total overall EMC product performance. The Engineer works closely with the architect/concept team to analyze customer EMC targets and support the product concept. The Engineer works to cascade and translate EMC requirements to sub-component suppliers. The Engineer helps to coordinate the cross-functional team and manage critical interfaces that will influence overall system EMC performance. The Engineer helps to define EMC test plans to ensure the system targets are satisfied. The Engineer will help support root cause and issue resolution for EMC-related issues. The Engineer will be supporting coordination efforts across the power electronic, eMotor, software, and validation teams for all electrification products such as eBeam and/or eDrive to ensure system targets are satisfied.
As an Intermediate level engineer, the engineer will work independently with limited supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using knowledge and judgment to make adaptations and modifications.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze EMC requirements from the customer and support initial concept proposals.
  • Lead technical reviews of suppliers design during the development phase of electrification projects
  • Review of EMC test reports and report to customer with analysis.
  • Cascade of EMC specifications from system to components and sub-components.
  • Collaborates with other engineering disciplines to define detailed design, analysis, validation and verification, and overall specification releases.
  • Support the definition of EMC test plans.
  • Support root cause and issue resolution for EMC-related issues.
  • Coordinate efforts across the power electronic, eMotor, software, and validation teams for the eBeam and/or other eDrive products to ensure system EMC targets are satisfied.
  • Experience in using the test equipment in EMC lab.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of diverse experience across product design, test/validation, and/or mechatronic systems integration required.
  • EMC testing background preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of EMC/EMI specific related experience.
  • Experience launching a product (see a project from concept through production).
  • Experience with eDrive systems and/or electrification products preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering Technology, Software Engineering, or similar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively with internal and external contacts, with a high degree of diplomacy, judgment, and possesses the ability to effectively influence persons in all types of positions.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • High level of analytical ability, understanding of engineering theory, and principles of design.


Work Environment
Office environment with hybrid work-from-home policy; 10% travel required.
While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
