TITLE: Systems Engineer (Database Administrator)
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, Colorado
JOB SUMMARY: Implement, monitor, and enhance Charter's Service Delivery Platform, including database system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting when issues arise. Perform Exadata network design, configuration, testing, and documentation. Propose and implement enhancements, including software and hardware updates to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of Exadata. Manage physical and logical resources, connectivity, networks, topology services, lifecycles, and business processes. Develop and modify database programming code and gather new requirements for re-design and re-coding. Plan and implement database changes with application developers and system administrators to minimize disruption. Manage system resources among applications and perform tuning tasks. Responsible for log-based change data capture, distribution, transformation, and delivery. Manage heterogeneous databases and operating systems. Perform bidirectional replication, maintain transactional integrity, support reliable data delivery, and manage fast recovery after interruptions. Ensure security and performance of database systems; optimize database performance and identify and resolve performance issues; deploy hot fixes, service releases, and major releases on planned maintenance cycles. Configure Oracle Enterprise Manager monitoring tools, implement monitoring policies, establish data replication, and assist in developing disaster recovery strategies. Monitor critical alerts, system availability and resource consumption through Oracle tools including Oracle Enterprise monitoring. Identify downtime, monitor end-to-end of processes, and follow deployment standards for multiple applications utilizing change request tools. Develop Shell scripts to automate routine activities including, health checks, backups, and monitoring. Administer and maintain database systems in Oracle for performance and uptime. Maintain and patch computer and storage systems utilizing Exadata. Configure and maintain the monitoring and alerting systems utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager. Perform operating systems skills utilizing Unix, including Basic Shell/Perl scripting, monitoring commands, utilizing File Editor, performing disk management, basic networking, utilizing Kernel Parameter, and utilizing Unix directory structure.
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of experience administering and maintaining database systems in Oracle for performance and uptime. 3 years of experience maintaining and patching computer and storage systems utilizing Exadata; and, configuring and maintaining the monitoring and alerting systems utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager. 2 years of experience performing operating systems skills utilizing Unix, including Basic Shell/Perl scripting, monitoring commands, utilizing File Editor, performing disk management, basic networking, utilizing Kernel Parameter, and utilizing Unix directory structure.
Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $139,568.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $139,568.00 to $152,300.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
