TS/SCI
Tampa, FL (CENTCOM)

The Systems Engineer Advisor is a strong, self-motivated, solution-oriented individual who will be joining an experienced team to support the implementation and sustainment of multiple networks. We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic systems engineer to join us in delivering high quality IT systems.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.



Acquisition & Deployment

  • Designs and defines network architecture for new or existing information systems
  • Performs complex network development and design work.
  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements.
  • Provides input for documentation on new or existing networks.
  • Develops and conducts tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.



Operational Management

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems.
  • Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
  • Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.
  • This position may require limited travel to CONUS and OCONUS (Non-Hazardous Duty) locations.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of technical experience required.
  • BA/BS required and 11 years of experience or 9 years and Master's degree
  • A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in Red Hat Linux system administration, including installing and maintaining operating systems, configuring and installing hardware/software utilizing monitoring technologies, troubleshooting, and sustaining the operational health of the infrastructure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze Linux systems and networks efficiently
  • Proficient with scripting Linux functions (e.g BASH, Python)
  • Knowledge of Windows systems, VMWare and Linux/Windows directory management
  • Networking knowledge (network layers, TCP/IP, Firewalls, IPsec)
  • Understanding of Agile, ITIL, DevOps practices.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be IAT level II compliant with DoD 8570.1.
  • DoD Computing Environment Certificate/OS Certificate in Linux
  • ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
  • A demonstrated strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Virtual infrastructure technologies.
  • May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Experience with system automation software (Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with NSA's Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program and solutions.
