As a member of this team you will be responsible for defining and developing system level test tools used in daily Micron SSD validation. You will write architecture and design specs for tools based on product and test requirements, develop code to conform to specifications and define tool validation criteria to ensure proper functionality. This tools is part of a larger test framework and requires daily interaction with other development and validation teams to ensure smooth tool integration into the Validation environment. There will be times where you will perform failure analysis and issue replication to identify special fail cases and test corrections. You must be proficient in basic coding techniques and system level development.
Some travel may be required to China, Singapore, and/or India.
General Responsibilities:

  • Mapping product requirements to tool requirements
  • Documentation of requirements
  • Coding of tools (in C/C++ and python)
  • Integration of new tools into existing tool chain
  • Rapid debug and support of bugs and releases to fix field issues
  • System level and drive level debugging using software programs, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and other diagnostic tools
  • Create and drive policies across test teams by interfacing/collaborating with other product development teams
  • Daily interaction with world-wide teams in the US, China, Singapore and India.
  • Support Internal/External Customers to provide technical support (e.g. failure analysis, questions, etc.)


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience; BS/MS degree in a relevant engineering field
  • Experience and understanding of SSD design and operation principles
  • Solid understanding of Python and C/C++
  • Able to demonstrate system level programming skills (OS constructs such as thread/process management and IPC; h/w interface programming)
  • Solid understanding or experience of PCIe and NVMe protocol.
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (Fedora)
  • Able to work with bus analyzers and debuggers
  • Experience with firmware development
  • Agile and test-driven development understanding and skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux and Windows system configuration
  • Highly effective, strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with dynamic demands
