System Software Engineer
Description
SAIC is seeking a System Software Engineer to work as part of an engineering team at the Army Network Design Facility located in Huntsville, AL.
The System Software Engineer will be integrating, troubleshooting, and conducting testing of tactical data link messages on weapon systems utilizing Link 16 protocol.
The selected candidate with collaborate closely with a team of other test engineers and software engineers to provide engineering support to the engineering test team as new software block cycles are fielded to both existing Link 16 MIDS LVT terminals as well as future procurement efforts of Link 16 MIDS JTRS terminals.
We are seeking a person with highly technical aspirations and a scientific mindset to work with this extraordinary team in development and implementation of operating procedures and in the implementation and integration of Link 16 with existing Army platforms that have been identified to have requirements for the Link 16 data link network.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education: Bachelors of Science Degree and at least 5 years relevant experience, Master's degree and 3 years, or equivalent is required in a STEM field. 4 years experience can be accepted in lieu of degree.
Security Clearance: Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Link 16 Tactical Data Link message protocol.
- Candidate must demonstrate prowess in applied engineering sciences and must have excellent communication skills including the ability to electronically organize data and present technical information to a variety of audiences.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience in the following areas is highly desired but not required:
- Experience with MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-6020, MIL-STD-3011, etc.
- Familiarity with the following NATO standards: STANAG 4175, 5522, 5516, 5511
